Mercedes at 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed
Mercedes plan to put on a show at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed with historic F1 cars, AMG, historic cars and much more. The 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed is now only a little over three months away, and car makers are starting to reveal what plans they have for what is quite possibly the best pertrolhead experience in the world. Mercedes are offering a cornucopia of delights for the 2012 FoS and are taking the opportunity to bring along their latest offerings as well as plenty of stuff from their back catalogue, and the two collide in the 2012 Mercedes SL as Mercedes celebrate 60 years since the W194 300 SL and 75 years since the 1937 W125 Tripoli Grand Prix car.
We never thought of the Lexus LX 570 as being particularly short on power. Apparently the team at Hennessey Performance had a different opinion and took matters into their own hands, creating a supercharger package for the full-size SUV. The standard Lexus LX 570 already pumps out 383 hp and 403 lb-ft of torque courtesy of its 5.7-liter V8 engine, with power going to all four wheels.
Huge news at Mercedes-Benz: Engineers from its AMG performance-car offshoot are developing a plug-in electric version of the upcoming SLS supercar as part of a broad-based efficiency program to place the automaker at the leading edge of socially acceptable performance-car motoring. Tentatively planned for production in 2015, the new zero-emission supercar draws heavily on the production version of the yet-to-be-fully-revealed SLS scheduled to get its first public outing at the Frankfurt motor show on Sept. 15.
